I am a professionally qualified wine enthusiast based in India, playing my little part in the intricate but fascinating world of wine. I have been associated with the wine and hospitality industry for more than fourteen years now. Currently offering my services as the Corporate Beverage Manager – Wines at ITC Hotels. In this role I’m responsible for initiating and maintaining a robust wine program for the entire chain.
I pursued my wine interests in New Zealand for almost five years before returning back to my roots in India in March 2011.
Over the years, my passion for wine has driven me to acquire relevant qualifications in Winemaking & Viticulture, Wine & Spirits Education Trust’s (WSET) Level 4 Diploma, the WSET Level 3 Advanced Certificate and am a Certified Sommelier by Court of Master Sommeliers. I also have a three years’ Degree in Hospitality Management.
I hold a very global view on wines and recognise the merits (and occasional demerits) of both Old and New World wines. I also like to keep abreast to current industry trends. Have travelled across the world which has added to my wine and food experience.
My areas of interest lie in world politics, quizzing, soccer, professional networking, wine industry trends, wine education and training, wine writing and of course sampling wines. I am a particular fan of the Rhone Valley reds and whites from Alsace and Germany (Rieslings).
