Hello there, I am just writing an a report for my university studies, and I am stuck and wondered if you could help me?

I am writing about the structure of the New Zealand wine Industry and it’s attempts at quality control that the internal (government or otherwise) organisations have implemented to ensure that their internal and export market are well served with a quality wine product.

But after reading bits on the internet I am unsure if it is just New Zealand wine growers that control these standards, it seems a bit all over the place and no clear clarification is made in any research, it all seems very vague. Is it just the New Zealand Wine growers/ sustainable winegrowers that determine these control standards?? I am slightly confused on this?

I would appreciate any help you can give me on this, thank you

I’m sure people in NZ Wine (http://www.nzwine.com/) will be more than glad to help you with your queries. They have a dedicated section under ‘Research’ which you may find useful too.

Personally, I don’t think there is any controlling authority (like the French AOC/AOP) in New Zealand which enforces any standard regulations.

      All the best,

      Niladri
